This Microsoft PowerPoint training course will help you learn the fundamentals of creating a PowerPoint Presentation. By the end of the course, students will be able to create, save and print presentations, create slides and modify slide set-up, work with and format text, use the various editing views, insert and work with clip art and pictures.

Our certified Microsoft trainers will show you plenty of time saving tips and tricks as well as leading you through all of the key elements of PowerPoint. This ensures that you have a thorough grounding in how Microsoft PowerPoint works.

We run scheduled PowerPoint training courses in Guildford and London at a number of levels. We train on version 2013 which is almost identical to 2007, 2010 and 2016, please make the trainer aware on the day if you use a different version and they can point out anything that may be slightly different.

You will then be ready to attend our Advanced PowerPoint course. Book the two together on consecutive days and save £55! Call for details

About this course

This aim of this course is to teach you the basics of creating and working with PowerPoint presentations. By the end your will be a confident PowerPoint user and able to animate your presentations. You’ll also be able to include clipart, graphs, diagrams and animations to bring your presentations to life.

This course is designed for delegates with no or minimal experience of Microsoft PowerPoint. It is recommended that students have basic experience using the Microsoft Windows operating system. This course assumes no knowledge of PowerPoint.

Our courses run from 9.30 am to approximately 4.30pm.
We do not have a dress code. Please wear whatever you are most comfortable in. You don’t need to bring anything with you when you book one of our training courses. All of the following a included:
A full colour beginners PowerPoint course manual.
The exercises that you have worked on during your course to allow you to practice afterwards.
USB stick to take the exercises away (where relevant).
Freshly prepared lunch in our onsite cafeteria.
Refreshments though out the day.
Training in fully air conditioned facilities from an experienced PowerPoint instructor.
Free parking at our training centre in Guildford.

We start this course by getting you comfortable with the PowerPoint window. We show you how the menus and options are structured so that you are happy with finding the various menus and options that you will need when working with your presentation. We also look at where to find information about the current presentation and slide that you are working on.

Your First Presentation

This session focuses on the right way to plan and template a new presentation that you are creating from scratch. We look at how to plan a new presentation and then how to design your presentation. We then move to how to set up the template for your presentation to ensure that it’s appearance is consistent. Having discussed templates we look at applying a template to a presentation. Having got our presentation set up with the right template we look at adding text and then how to save the presentation we have set up.

Working With Text

Now that we have got our presentation set up correctly and using a template for consistency we look at how you can add text to your slides. Next we look at paragraph formatting and ensuring that the bulk presentation of our text is correct.

SmartArt

Inserting a SmartArt template and customising it is often far faster than creating a diagram from scratch. This session covers all aspects of inserting SmartArt in to a PowerPoint presentation. It then looks at working with SmartArt to edit it so that it creates exactly the diagram that you are looking for.
