About this course
UK applicants must be a qualified midwife, registered with the NMC in the UK and with a current NMC intention to practice. There must also be no restrictions on their professional practice. Overseas applicants- must demonstrate evidence of their qualification /registration as a midwife and hold a current midwifery licence to practice in their own country. Course programme
This highly engaging and flexible course is designed to meet your individual needs by allowing you to study in your own time and around your own personal and professional commitments. The course comprises of online, taught and blended sessions, backed up with personal one-to-one sessions at times to suit you. During the course you will be required to complete the equivalent of 9 modules, which comprises of 2 core modules, 4 option modules and a 3 module dissertation. There is an extensive range of option modules to choose from, including a Student Initiated Module in which you can choose your area of study.
Optional Modules:
There are a number of level 7 (20 credit) option modules offered on the pathway, which are not all delivered each year and are timetabled on a rolling programme. We offer a variety of delivery modes; some specific practice based modules are delivered face to face on the main University campus, whilst others are offered via online/ distance learning.
Please note option modules marked with a * can only be taken by NMC Registered Midwives in the UK with a current NMC Intention to Practice and no restrictions on their professional practice.
