Course review:
Due to the changes in the current climate of emergency care provision; Medipro Training have developed a course specifically designed as a ‘see and treat’ course. An ideal learning tool Pre-Hospital clinicians.
It will equip students to competently assess and manage minor wounds and injuries and discharge at the point of contact.
The programme is split into three elements; firstly the pre-course study in the format of an interactive DVD which includes core reading materials, videos of techniques and clinical procedures. This is followed by a 2 day clinical course where each learner has the opportunity to reinforce their knowledge and practice new skills. This element is lead by clinicians who have a vast amount of experience in both primary health care and the pre-hospital arena, as well as educated to a BSc as a minimum.
Lastly each learner will have a 2 day placement in a minor injury unit or A&E department. This is an ideal opportunity to discuss and observe your new skills in a controlled setting, working alongside fellow medical professionals. This element will follow the 2 day classroom course or can be on a suitable date to suit the learner. An enhanced CRB will be applied for.
This course is approved by OCN Credit4learning at level 4 which gives each learner academic credits for their achievements.
