On the Modern Apprenticeship, young people will study for an NVQ in Amenity Horticulture, which includes topics such as ground preparation, establishing and maintaining plants, and using and maintaining equipment.
 
The learner will also cover a range of key skills, including communication and working with others, as well as transferable skills such as health and safety.
