Course Description
Classroom teaching will provide the opportunity to study each technical subject area. Working in the college's fully equipped motor vehicle workshop you will work on vehicles and fully operational vehicle training rigs, using modern tools and equipment.The course provides off-the-job training for trainee motor vehicle technicians employed in vehicle repair workshops, or those on long-term placements wishing to acquire motor trade qualifications. Study topics include:

Assessment: The assessment for this qualification is based upon your ability to show your competence against the national standards as set by the Award Body. Workplace observations, college-based practical and written assessments along with on-line tests are used.

Progression Routes: Main progression route is on to the Advanced Apprenticeship Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair - Level 3 qualification. Main career path is employment in Vehicle Repair Industry, leading to Level 2 Vehicle Technician status.
