Motor Vehicle Maintenance Introduction
Motor Vehicle Maintenance: City and Guilds 3992 Introductory level

The course consists of 5 units for the full certificate.

3992 - 001 / 3992 - 002 Lubrication System - Covering an introduction to different types of oils, changing oil, oil filters and replacing, checking the oil level.

3992 - 003 / 3992 - 004 / 3992 - 005 Cooling System - Covering removing, examining and replacing thermostat, radiators, water pumps, removing, examining and replacing draining and flushing system

3992 - 006 / 3992 - 007 Electrical System - Covering an introduction to the ignition circuit, charging circuit and starting circuit. Battery, dynamo, generator, fan belt, spark plugs, distributor, contact breaker, ignition timing.

3992 - 008 / 3992 - 009 / 3992 - 010 Braking System - Covering an introduction to general maintenance of braking system: brake pipes, brake shoes, disc pads, hand brakes and cable, bleeding braking system.

3992 - 011 / 3992 - 012 Fuel System - Covering an introduction to fixed jet carburetor, variable jet carburetor, and Air filter replacement.

On Myrrh

Provider description
Myrrh Education and Training is a registered charity founded in 1993. Its mission is to provide training for those who have found it hard to find training elsewhere or who would benefit from training with Myrrh. Myrrh is based in south London and operates on three sites.

Most of the learners who come to Myrrh are adults. That means you often need to fit learning into a busy life. You may have part-time work and want hours to suit. You may need childcare or a course that runs between school hours. When you start, can agree an individual learning plan with attendance to suit you. We will work with you to sort out any practical problems.

Joining Myrrh will not be like going back to school. Our learners spend most of their time in practical settings like hairdressing salons, motor vehicle workshops and working kitchens. You can train to become a skilled craftsperson or a qualified carer, we can make it happen. Check out our range of courses.
