Course programme

What will I learn?

Lessons are a mix of practical and theory You will learn: vehicle systems; removal and refitting of service parts; and you will also be encouraged to spend one day a week in a retail garage You will also learn functional skills

How will I be assessed?

You'll put together a portfolio of work, do timed tests, and be observed carrying out tasks

What may it lead to?

Students can move into a job or onto the Level 2 Motor Vehicle Service & Repair course

Entry Requirements

You'll need: four GCSEs at grades D or E (including Maths and English), or a Level 1 qualification (or above) in the functional skills diagnostic 'Number, Communication & ICT' test You will also need a satisfactory report from school or previous learning institution Entry onto the course is subject to an interview

Work Experience

Students will be encouraged to spend at least one day per week in a retail garage
