About this course
This Diploma is ideal for 16-19 year old learners, who enjoy the sector and wish to develop experience in a variety of motor industry sectors, at a level to suit their ability. It can support their progress to a Diploma at Level 2.
Successful candidates can apply for direct entry into the Motorcycle or Vehicle Servicing Industry on completion of the progression route for Level 2.
You'll require GCSE English and Maths at Grade 3 (D).
As well as completing a pre-course practical taster session you'll meet with Automotive Technology staff for a short interview and undertake Literacy and Numeracy online skills tests to determine your skill levels.

Course Assessment Method
The learning outcomes are assessed by a mixture of practical task- based assessment, direct observation, oral questioning and online assessments.
The mandatory units for the Diploma are:
- L101: Health and safety practices in vehicle maintenance;
- L102: Tools, equipment and materials for vehicle maintenance.
