Train the Trainer - Moving & Handling of people

The Moving & Handling of People Trainers Programme is designed for people wishing to teach Moving & Handling principles and safer practical techniques in their place of work. It is also designed to assist delegate's to complete Risk assessments and Moving & Handling Competency Assessments.
All training follows guidelines published by the Health & Safety Executive and standards set by National Back Exchange, in addition to professional bodies, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the College of Occupational Therapy and the Royal College of Nursing.
The Course also meet the requirements of the All Wales Passport Scheme.
The full 5-day course is for anyone who wants to teach others to move people safely and be involved in undertaking risk assessments and identifying safe solutions and promotion of safe dignified care
This approach to individualised training programmes and person care planning meets government targets to expand more services into the community and other settings away from the traditional NHS and replaces the traditional blanket training of theory followed by standard practical sessions based in a classroom. Although the training is classroom based it will concentrate on scenarios and problem solving.
These workplace/employment settings may include:
• Acute hospital settings both NHS or private
• Community Care Agencies
• Residential or Nursing homes
• Homes for service users with Dementia/learning difficulties
• Individualised support
• Sheltered Housing
• Direct payment schemes
