Course programme

Course detail
Research at the MPhil level represents an extension of existing knowledge. Most students enrol first for the MPhil and transfer to the PhD when their work has sufficiently developed. However, it is possible to enrol directly onto the PhD course if you are appropriately qualified.

Some students without previous research experience may enrol on the MPhil and complete a diploma in applied research methodologies during their first year of study.

You will have a supervisory team made up of a Principal Supervisor with experience in the chosen field, a further supervisor and, where appropriate an additional advisor.

You will be able to access all the general support facilities on offer at the University. Research will be judged through presentation of a thesis or artefact and a viva voce for academic assessment.
