To join this programme you should have a first or upper second class honours degree in a management or social sciences related discipline. In exceptional circumstances, students with a lower second class honours degree with demonstrable knowledge of their subject matter may be admitted at the department’s discretion. Overseas applicants will be considered on an individual basis and will be expected to demonstrate IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.

What will I study?

This programme comprises three research-themed modules and a dissertation.

The research modules introduce you to a wide range of research methods and the methodologies applicable to management research. You will be supervised and supported through both conducting research and writing a dissertation.

Depending on your chosen area of interest, you will broaden your knowledge and understanding of a management related discipline and be exposed to leading-edge research in that area.

£12,250 for international students enrolling on the programme in academic year 2016/17.

How will I be assessed?

A range of assessment methods will be used on the programme. The dissertation/research project is predominately assessed based on the 25,000-word written thesis. Other modules are assessed through essays and other written research projects.

Who will be teaching me?

This programme is taught by highly motivated and experienced academics specialising in different areas of critical management research. All members of the programme team are active researchers engaged with research projects at national and international level. Some seminars will be delivered by external guest speakers from academia and industry. You will also be invited to attend a series of research seminars organised by the department and have the opportunity to present your own work within a supportive and nurturing environment.
