MSc Econ Information Systems

In collaboration with the University-wide research training programme, the Department of Information Studies offers an ESRC accredited research training masters course in the Information Management specialist area. It is aimed at students who are considering doctoral research in the future, and students wishing to pursue this programme may apply to the ESRC for funding for the Masters programme and PhD research.

Students will pursue the following core modules:

• Exploiting Research Information
• Principles of Research Design
• Data Collection and Data Analysis
• Information Needs Analysis
• Information Systems Analysis and Implementation

Students will also choose two from the following list of optional modules:

• Knowledge Management
• Marketing of Services
• Management Information Systems
• Internet Marketing and E-Business
• Strategic Management

Once the taught part of the course is completed, students then complete a dissertation.
