Course starts in October each year.

Taught part time over 3 years (minimum) up to 5 years (maximum).

The course is currently being taught at Aston University. Each module is taught over 2 weekends, each 5 - 6 weeks apart. 4 modules taught per year, a total of eight long study weekends per year (Friday - Sunday).

"From October 2017 we are also offering the course in Cambridge. Teaching will differ slightly in that each module will be taught over 3 weekends, a total of twelve study weekends per year (Saturday & Sunday)."

Year one provides core modules, year 2 provides for 4 from several options available. Options and content of several specific modules will be demand-led by employers. Year 3 is major project (employer based).

For direct enrolment onto the MSc programme in Engineering Leadership & Management, you will need one of the following:

  • A good UK honours degree
  • An equivalent overseas degree recognised by Aston
  • A degree-level professional qualification.

Plus

  • At least FIVE years relevant work experience
  • An official academic transcript of your grades (in English) where relevant
  • Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence of an English language qualification.
  • Two professional references, each of which should reflect your leadership and management potential.

Admission outside of these guidelines is possible for exceptional students. If you have extensive work experience but no graduate qualifications, you may be considered for admission to the programme.

All candidates will be invited to interview with the course director or his/her nominee prior to a formal offer being made.

Course Fee:

£15,950

You may be eligible to apply for a loan of up to £10,280 towards the cost of studying a Masters degree at Aston University. Postgraduate loans are administered by Student Finance England and there are restrictions - so please do check.

This programme aims to help emerging engineering leaders to build on their previous specialist skills, experiences and training to acquire those management and leadership skills required to meet their own and their company goals. To this end the programme will be, in part, demand led, by working with a number of first adopter/trailblazer firms on their specific content needs, in the form of optional modules or modules they may wish to deliver themselves.
