MSc Human Resource Management (CIPD upgrade)

This programme is designed for experienced HR professionals that have achieved Graduate or Full Membership of the CIPD. BPP can give you credit against your previous study, allowing you to complete our MSc Human Resource Management (CIPD upgrade)*. A practitioner focussed programme delivered with a professional and practical emphasis, but still underpinned by sound academic rigour.

Our aim is to develop creative thinking professionals who have the ability to add value to any organisation. The specialist subjects covered will drill down to enable students to make decisions on complex and specialist activities within their chosen field.

The programme has the following main features:

* Programmes taught by a dynamic mix of academics and practitioners to help you understand how business disciplines work in practice
* A high proportion of student-tutor contact time in classes
* A variety of teaching methods including seminars, computer-based learning and talks by guest presenters from industry
* Option to speed up or slow down the pace of your programme to fit in with your lifestyle and needs

All BPP Business School's master's programmes will offer the flexibility of three starts a year - January, May or September.

Programme content

Once you have successfully obtained CIPD Graduate membership or above, BPP provides you with the opportunity to upgrade your professional qualification to a MSc in Human Resource Management (CIPD upgrade)*. You will need to complete two further modules to achieve a master's degree, further enhancing your skills and credentials in HR.

The upgrade can be studied at a time and pace convenient to you. Module areas will include employment law, consultancy, organisational change and strategy.

How is the programme taught?

You will be taught using a combination of:

* Whole group sessions
* Small group sessions
* External input, with guest presenters from the industry
* Online resources through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which allows you to download programme notes and presentations
* Study materials

Whole group sessions will typically be organised around a series of short lectures, in combination with interactive activities such as buzz groups. Small group sessions will include workshops with a strong emphasis on student-centered learning. This means many of the classes will include practical skills session.
