One of only four programmes in the UK to be accredited by the Charted Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and recognised by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) headquartered in the USA, our Masters provides you with a high-quality, professional qualification recognised around the world.
Building on your first degree and professional experience, you’ll deepen your academic knowledge and gain a broad understanding of best practice in management and leadership for an organisation's human resources from a number of perspectives including: multiple stakeholder; international; ethical; cultural; legal; operational and strategic. This programme also provides the specialised HR skills and employment law relevant for the UK.
We emphasise translating academic research and learning to real work situations in order to develop your professional, managerial and employability skills. Our students work on real-world issues through, for example, case studies, placements or investigative projects in their own organisation and through guest lectures by industry experts. We assess key HR skills separately from written assignments. Both full and part-time students have the opportunity to add value to their own work/organisation through a Business Investigation Report (PG Diploma) or HRM Research Project (Masters).
After graduation, you’ll be prepared for range of managerial and operational roles, where a key responsibility lies in managing, supporting and developing an organisation's human resources, in domestic, international and culturally diverse settings.
