Course module details
Put your organisational skills to the test and learn to help businesses manage the production and delivery of products and services in an increasingly globalised marketplace. This course covers operations management, supply chain management, project management and process improvement in one challenging and rewarding degree.
Operations management is all about how to organise the production and delivery of products and services. From banks to factories, 90% of people are involved in operations. This course gives you the skills to ensure that process runs smoothly, particularly in the face of challenges and opportunities arising from the increasingly global reach of business.
The course covers the service, manufacturing, public and private sectors, showing how operations management works, whether the customer is a patient in hospital, a traveller on a transport system or a consumer buying a new iPod.
You have the opportunity to concentrate on particular aspects of operations management, supply chain management, project management and process improvement.
The course provides you with the knowledge and practical skills vital for the professional operations, project or supply chain manager in a globalised environment. It also gives you a strong foundation for any subsequent doctoral work or an academic career within the field.

By agreement, you may choose one elective from other masters courses. This is by arrangement and subject to timetabling and your previous studies.
Coursework and assessmentAssessment across the course units varies, and includes a combination of examinations, course work and group project assessment and presentations, in-class tests and assignments. A dissertation is also undertaken and normally ranges between 12,000 and 25,000 words.
