About this course

Normally, you need a range of GCSEs including English at grade C or better. You will be invited for an audition and interview. You need the ability to read music or TAB, and a good practical skill on your main instrument. You will have to produce a written portfolio of your work throughout the course.

About the Course
There are eighteen units of study to cover over two years. These units can be put into five related categories:
* General Music Knowledge - chord and theory
* Music Business - record companies, management and marketing
* Performing in Public with weekly opportunities to perform
* Practical Skills using your guitars or keyboards and computer and samplers
* Recording in our 24-track digital recording studio
The fundamental driving force behind this course is to give a comprehensive grounding to you, the budding professional musician. Dedication is the key factor. Love of music in all its various forms is essential. Playing, listening, composing, performing and recording are our main interests. It†s not all rock†n†roll - though there is that, too! You will need to study music. You should understand the elements of musical theory. You will look at and listen to 20th Century music. You will work out how to put on a public performance, and how to market it. You will become a sound engineer and help others to record. You will also improve your key skills: Communication, Information Technology and Application of Number.

No Course Fees for Under 19's. Over 19's must pay, or claim Level 2 or Level 3 Entitlement for FREE courses .
