Why should I come to Pendleton College?
You will have an interest in Classic Music/Musicals and composing your own music in your own style. You will be keen to improve your own composing and instrumental playing (as a soloist and in groups). The course includes the study of other composers' work and learning in detail how they are put together.

What will I study?
You will listen, compose and perform. You will study and analyse three set works, and learn about the world of musicals and study three of these in detail. You will compose your own music and perform it with others and on your own. You will use Cubasis VST to compose computer-generated music on the latest up-to-date systems.

What will I achieve?
You can go on to university, college or just enjoy music as a special interest along with a package of other courses.

How is the course assessed?
The course has three elements. The Compositions and Performances which can be in your own personal style are pre-written. The Performances are pre-assessed by your tutor. There is also a listening and written paper on the music you have studied. The marks are split approximately equally between the three skills.

What else will I do?
You may take music as part of a Performing Arts' Package. You will go to concerts and to the theatre and for trips, visits and performances. You will be asked to compose music for other events and people. You will enjoy yourself, have lots of fun and learn a lot along the way.
