INTRODUCTION
Music Educator courses are a unique training opportunity for musicians looking for a musicrelated teacher training course at Level 4.

These are all rewarding activities which can provide a useful income stream for working musicians.

Courses are usually delivered over one-year in a blended (flexible) learning format. However, they may also be available in full-time and part-time formats.

COURSE CONTENT
The course will give you with an excellent grounding in the principles of teaching and learning and in how to prepare and deliver music courses.
The course relates specifically to music and the activities are orientated to how people learn and understand music. It covers all, or most, of the
following areas:

  • how people learn music;
  • how to assess music;
  • managing music sessions;
  • how to deliver music workshops/masterclasses;
  • how to plan and deliver a music course;
  • researching opportunities in music education;
  • marketing yourself in music education;
  • researching special learning needs and music.

Content includes practical and theoretical sessions,session observation and placement and teaching in a educational setting. This means you will get the chance to do hands-on music teaching.

Additional information

Payment options: For the one year level 3 Music Educator courses at ATM centres, students have to pay £380. This includes £50 for Enrolment, £286 for Tuition and £44 for a CRB check. There is also an additional £100 City & Guids (C&G) registration for the CTLLS/PTLLS qualification. This is optional but highly recommended.
