Course programme

You will be working with industry-standard equipment and technology and your studies will give you the confidence to successfully plan and prepare a range of performances, as well as many opportunities to organise and work in a recording studio environment.

To ensure that students receive a real-world experience, the use of Apple Mac’s and their respective operating systems is a large part of this course, as these are used by many, if not all, professional recording studios. Assignments are based on the type of work that would be sent through to a record label or Agent.

Although a wide range of musical material will be explored, particular focus will be spent on Rock, Pop, Metal, Electronica, Dance and R&B.

This course is perfectly suited for those who perhaps cannot decide between the Music Practice and Music Technology.

Core Units:

  • Introduction to Performance

  • Introduction to Production

Specialist Units:

  • Exploring Music Composition

  • Music Performance Skills in Practice

  • Music Production Skills in Practice

  • Music Performance and Production Project
