This course looks at all aspects of being a professional producer and/or sound engineer. You will lead a number of recording sessions deciding upon microphone placement, use of effects, recording techniques and use of acoustic treatment etc. You will also become part of a live sound team, setting up and controlling the levels and mix for many live gigs. You will use modern computer techniques and software to produce music and then work with live musicians to create a finished piece. You will then get the chance to release them through the college’s record label Forerunner Records. Good at making beats? Need to record some live vocals on them? This is what you will do. We also look at the music industry, i.e. how to not get ripped off when selling your sounds, how to promote yourself and all the pro secrets of mixing and mastering. Fed up of recording in your bedroom? Frustrated by having a million ideas but not enough gear to get high quality recordings? This is the course you need.
