Course assessment:
- AS - You will hand in a portfolio for external assessment and sit a 1hour 45 minute listening examination.
- A2 - You will hand in a portfolio and sit a two hour practical and theoretical examination.

What will I learn?
You will be expected to cover a wide range of disciplines within Music Technology, including:
- Sequencing
- Arranging
- Recording
- Composing
The course allows for the study of contemporary Popular Music and Jazz since the 1910's and developments within Technology based music.
You will use industry-leading equipment in order to produce a high quality of work with the latest Pro-tools and Cubase software. We have one fully equipped recording studio and an outstanding mix studio to help realise your projects.
What Makes a good Music Technology student?
The ability to read and play standard musical notation in treble and bass clefs. Some piano/keyboard facility is essential. GCSE music and/or instrumental lessons are both invaluable.
Which other courses link well with this subject?
Maths and Physics for specific Music Technology courses and some University Music Technology courses require Music A2.
