Musical Theatre Diploma is a course which aims to give students an insight into the world of musical theatre training and performance. This is a challenging course designed for the student wishing to follow a career path in theatre or entertainment. The course is a 90-credit qualification, the first year of a 2 year course which will complete your Extended Diploma (180 credit qualification)

What you need to know
How will I study?

You will take part in technique classes for the 3 disciplines: dance, acting and singing and have combined sessions for production and rehearsal. Performance projects are the underlying foundation of the course. As members of our company you will work within a schedule that emulates that of a professional company, taking technique classes and rehearsals. You will also undertake practical research and academic exploration. The course is a 90-credit qualification which consists of the following units: Core Units:• Performing to an Audience • Musical Theatre Performance • Performance Workshop Specialist Units could include: • Dance Performance • Variety Performance • Singing Skills for Actors and Dancers • Developing Physical Theatre • Developing Voice for the Actor • Jazz Dance • Rehearsing for Performance • Developing Classical Ballet Technique
How will I be taught?

Classes in dance, acting and singing technique will take place on a weekly basis along with production classes for show rehearsals. You will perform informal sharings throughout the year and as a company at the end of the year. With several other mini-performance opportunities throughout the year.
How will I be assessed?

Each unit will have an assessment and the core units shall be externally examined. Assessment are through practical performance as well as rehearsing logs and research projects.
