Content * Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety * Fulfill salon reception duties * Promote additional products or services to clients * Provide manicure treatment (this will include specialist treatments, anatomy and physiology) * Provide pedicure treatment (this will include specialist treatments, anatomy and physiology) * Extend and maintain nails * Provide nail art services (this will cover basic painting techniques, transfers, stones/ gems, glitter, foiling NB not airbrushing) *Learning takes place in the salons, receptions and classrooms using demonstrations, practical workshops, theory lessons, work packs and practical sessions. The salons operate as a business in order to provide a realistic working environment. Students learn and practice on each other before working on paying clients. Assessment By continual assessment throughout the course using unit end tests, assignments, practical assessments on paying clients, case studies etc. Evidence is collected in a large portfolio, which is cross-referenced to an assessment book Qualification gained- VTCT NVQ in Nail Services at Level 2 over year 1 Progression NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy (General route) Employment as a nail technician
