Description

The course is practical and consists of 6 units over 1 year. Units are focused on: Visual Recording in Art and Design. Materials, Techniques and Processes in Art and Design. Ideas and Concepts. Visual Communication. Fashion and Textile Design. Pattern Construction Projects will also include research and academic writing. They will be exciting and innovative and will enable you to develop.

Important information

Requirements: Students must have achieved either four A-C grades at GCSE level, one of which should be in an Art and Design related subject, a GNVQ Intermediate, a First Diploma in an Arts and Design related subject or equivalent. Students with GCSE English will also be prioritised.

Who is the programme for? The programme is for those who have an interest in Fashion and Clothing.

What will I study? The course is practical and consists of 6 units over 1 year. They will be exciting and innovative and will enable you to develop a personal style as well as specialist skills.

Entry to the Programme?

How is it assessed? You will work on a range of practical assignments and projects that will be awarded a grade by a tutor. The tutor will also provide feedback and give advice as to how you may improve your work in the future.

Future prospects? On successful completion of the National Award in Art and Design - Fashion and Clothing you may progress onto the National Diploma in Fashion and Clothing or possible employment.

When will the programme start? The programme will start in September 2009.

How long will it take? This course is full time and will run for one academic year.

What about the Money? If you are under 19 on 31st August 2009 you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees. If you are over 19 years of age

How do I apply? Complete an application form and return it to Student Services, you will then be asked to attend College for an interview.
