National Award in Health, Safety and Environment for Managers and Supervisors NVQ Level 3

This award is intended to those who are nominated risk assessors. The award is designed to develop an understanding of the methods adopted when carrying out effective risk assessments. At the end of the training learners will be able to plan and carry out effective risk assessments in their working environment.To achieve this award, learners must complete the mandatory unit 'Health, Safety and Enviorment for Managers and Supervisors'. This unit provides an overview of the responsibilities that a supervisor or manager may have for health, safety and environmental issues in the workplace. Learners will consider legislation pertinent to health, safety and environment concers, the implications for supervisors and managers and the duties imposed.The benefits tot he workplace for developing health, safety and environment management systems will be explored. Learners will gain understanding of how these management systems are developed and maintained. Included in this process is the necessity to access and manage risks, how supervisors and managers are actively involved in these practices.
