Who is the programme for? This qualification is suitable for school leavers or mature students who wish to gain access into employment within one of the many areas of the animal care industry. Additionally it would also be suitable for those already employed within the industry that wish to upgrade their exisiting qualificaiton, unemployed people or adults seeking a career change.

Entry to the Programme?
How is it assessed? Continual assessment will be an integral part of your programme. You will be required to undertake a number of assignments and participate in practical work where you will be observed by your tutor, and by the completion of a multiple choice question paper.
Future prospects? On completion of the qualification you may progress onto the Advanced National Certificate in Animal Care Level 3, or you may wish to obtain employment at an operationl a level in one of the many areas of the animal care industry, for example as an assistant in a kennels or cattery, petshop or retail outlet, veterinary practice, grooming parlour, or one of the animal welfare organisations.
When will the programme start? The programme will start in September
How long will it take? The programme may be accessed on a full or part time basis. Part time route duration, two academic years.
What about the Money? If you are under 19 on 31st August 2009 you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees. If you are over 19 years of age
How do I apply? There are regular enrolment sessions running throughout the summer months or alternatively applicationfroms are available from Student Services. All applications will be considered on an individual basis via informal interview.
