Course Overview
Unit 1 - Roles and Responsibilities of Door Supervisors
This includes how to comply with the law, admission policies and procedures, refusing entry, searching, seizing articles, eviction, use of force and offensive weapons, how to deal with emergencies, drugs, arrest, scene preservation and report writing.
Unit 2 - Conflict Management for Door Supervisors
This includes candidates managing conflict by applying dynamic risk approaches, understanding the importance of self-awareness and acting proactively; how to resolve conflict and how to learn from conflict.
This nationally recognised qualification will be the industry standard and will enable a door supervisor to apply for a licence to practise.
To get an SIA licence you will need to satisfy three requirements:
- Pass an identity check
- Pass a criminal records check
- Possess a recognised door supervisor qualification
Benefits Gained
A nationally recognised certificate for each unit awarded by the BIIAB stating the candidate has successfully achieved the Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors, and an overarching certificate when both units have been successfully completed.
What is the course duration?
The course will take 15 hours per unit including the two examinations.

Is there an examination?
There are two examinations, one for each unit. Each examination will have forty multiple-choice questions and will take 1 hour. While Unit 1 is a conventional multiple-choice paper, Unit 2 requires you to watch video clips before answering the questions.
