NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN ELECTRONICS
Entry Requirements
GCSEs in English, Maths and a Science subject
at grade C or above for recent school leavers. The following may also be
acceptable: BTEC First Certificate or Diploma, certain C&G qualifications,
BTEC GNVQ Intermediate. Applications from mature persons without any of
these above may be considered.
Registration requirements
Registration
with the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) awarding body is
required by those who wish to obtain the qualification. You may register
at the the college during enrolment.
Description
This two
year day release course aims to equip new and existing personnel working
in the electronics field with the necessary skills required by a
technician. The BTEC National course provides a good background in
technical engineering. It supports underpinning knowledge for NVQs at
level 3 and is a recognised technical certificate for the advanced
apprenticeship (level 3). The course offers progression to the HNC and is
a recognised means of career progression within the engineering industry.

completing this course you should be able to:

Where a course is aimed towards an
assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for
the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Continual assessment
methods are used. These include assignments, project work and test with
two units externally assessed by means of an integrate vocational
assignment.

Electronics HNC.
Materials
Scientific calculator, note or graph paper, text books
will be recommended, CDs.
Note: if your course runs for 2 or more
years you will be required to pay a tuition fee for each year of study.
