Generally 4 GCSE passes at A C including Mathematics, Science and English; First Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering or technically-based GNVQ Intermediate plus an interview.

Course Aims:
To provide students with a general knowledge and experience of electronic engineering, leading to nationally recognised technical engineering qualification.
Course Content:
This is an 18 unit/topic course designed to give students an insight into electronics, including topics such as Business Systems; Communications; Mathematics; Science; Project; Manufacturing Systems plus specialist units as follows Production Planning; Electronic CAD and Analysis; Clean Room Practices; Electronic Circuit Manufacture; Science for Semi-Conductors; Semi-Conductor Technology; Computer Aided Design; Computer Aided Manufacture; Quality Assurance & Control; Electrical & Electronic Principles; Engineering Design and Further Mathematics.
Progression:
The course prepares students for entry into a number of technology-based industries at Modern Apprentice level, the Armed Forces and into University, particularly the electronic and civil engineering fields.
