What will I be doing?
IYou will study a range of units that involve:
  • exploring and experimenting with music technology, using resources at your disposal
  • learning about software applications and allied technology through the creation of music
  • composing, arranging and recording pieces of music
  • providing evidence of understanding the equipment used through practical demonstrations and written assessments

How will I be assessed?
A BTEC National Diploma is a practical, work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you will develop the skills you need to start a career.

Additional qualification: Rock School Graded Examinations in Music Performance
As an integral part of your course you will also learn to develop your skills with live music performance. This will involve using keyboard, guitar or drums. You will be entered for live examinations and will receive an additional qualification from the Rock School when you successfully pass.

Where do I go from here?
This course is equivalent to three A Levels. Therefore, when you have finished the course you can choose whether to move into higher education or begin working immediately.
