Naturopathy Diploma
The Naturopathy Diploma (ND) has recently been accredited by the General Council and Register of Naturopaths (GCRN) .
The Naturopathy Diploma is based upon our many years of experience in delivering osteopathic and naturopathic education. As the professions and the general healthcare systems within the United Kingdom have changed, the course has grown and developed. The College is now able to offer the opportunity to train, refresh, or further develop your naturopathic skills to a level commensurate with the standards required by the GCRN.
Programme Information
For forty years the College has ensured its graduates are trained in naturopathic (as well as osteopathic) principles and their application to practice. In 1998 its previous undergraduate programme was validated by the General Council and Register of Naturopaths (GCRN) and its practitioners accepted into membership.
Since then the College has modularised the undergraduate programme and is now able to offer naturopathic training to those outside of its osteopathic student body wishing to gain a Naturopathic Diploma (ND) by undergraduate study. In 2007 GCRN validation was confirmed in respect of this programme.
This diploma is open to a wide variety of students, from differing backgrounds, and is tailored to each student's needs. Students with no healthcare background will need to follow the programme in full, and students with a particular background in health studies, with or without some degree of clinical experience, will follow a shorter programme. You will be designated the appropriate pathway during the application process.
Programme Structure
This undergraduate course is structured as a modularised programme, which is delivered over a three-year period, starting in January each year. Attendance is at weekends at Middlesex University and at the College of Osteopaths Teaching Clinic in Borehamwood.
Teaching for the Naturopathic Diploma is delivered by registered naturopaths, osteopaths, and other professionally qualified educators. Programme delivery includes lectures, workshops, self-directed home study and clinic based learning. Clinic hours are completed within the College clinic, and further experience may be gained under supervision at an external placement. Assessment is by reflective portfolio, examination, coursework and clinical assessments. On successful completion of the modules and clinic hours, students will receive the qualification of Naturopathic Diploma (ND).
