About this course

Candidates should have a minimum of two Standard Grades at level 2 or above and 2 Standard Grades at level 3 or above (one of which must be English). Applicants who successfully complete the Intermediate 2 Skills For Work Early Education & Child Care course and complete a satisfactory interview will also be considered.

Course Aims:
This full-time course includes a practical placement in a child care and education setting. It is one of the pre-requisite programmes for the HNC Early Education & Child Care. Child Development. Supporting Children's Behaviour. Play & Curriculum. Supporting Children's Rights. Child Health. Children With Additional Support Needs. Practical Experience With Children.

Progression Opportunities:
On successful completion of this course, students can access HNC Early Education & Childcare, subject to a satisfactory interview.

Career Potential:
Candidates may go on to work, under supervision, with children in an early years setting. Candidates who wish to become fully qualified should complete HNC Early Education & Childcare.

Course Assessment:
Students are assessed in a continuous way where you are encouraged to demonstrate your learning on a regular basis throughout the course. Students will also have the opportunity to achieve an early years qualification. This course is assessed in a variety of ways, ranging from projects to practical work with children.
