Within the travel and tourism industry, the Resort Representative has an important role in representing the tour operator and ensuring the success of a client's holiday. The Resort Representative is the first point of contact for holidaymakers at their destination. It is ideal for those seeking employment as well as those already working in the industry without a formal qualification.

This vocational qualification gives students the opportunity to hypothetically step into the shoes of an overseas resort representative. This is achieved through written and practical work where upon students are required to delve into the many tasks that a resort representative has to complete, from meeting holidaymakers at the airport to customer care. Through this means of learning you will be provided with the skills and knowledge to embark upon the road of becoming a successful overseas resort representative.

The main objectives of this qualification are for students to develop the knowledge and understanding to enable them to:

  • Understand the travel industry and the role of the resort representative
  • Fulfil the Resort Representative's role at the airport
  • Fulfil the Resort Representative's role at the hotel
  • Fulfil the Resort Representative's role on coach transfers
  • Promote effective customer care
  • Review the effectiveness of reporting

The Qualification: The NCFE Intermediate Certificate for Resort Representative has been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, and is part of the National Qualifications Framework as a vocationally related qualification.

This qualification has been endorsed by the Travel and Tourism Services, Events National Training Organisation (TTENTO) and by Thomas Cook Tour Operations.

The NCFE Intermediate Certificate for Resort Representative is run and operated by Oyster Travel Training Services Ltd.

Course Start Dates:

Due to the fact that recruitment procedures for overseas staff takes place between November and February, it is imperative that completion of the course is made within good time for this recruitment period. Therefore the course is only operated once a year in September.

One mode of study is currently available to candidates:

Saturday Class: 12 week course taking place on Saturday from 09.30 - 15.30.

Resource Requirements: Students to supply their own folders, notepads, pen etc. Access to the internet will at times be required.
