Introduction
The certificate is ideal for anyone who wishes to find employment as airline cabin crew or anyone wishing to enhance thier studies in travel and tourism. The qualification prepares candidates for entry into airline industry training.
Course Content
Learners must study six units including:
Understand the airline industry and the role of airline cabin crew
Promote effective customer care in the airline industry
Maintain effective time working and communications in the airline industry
Contribute to the health and safety of airline passengers
Contribute to aviation security
Demonstrate an understanding of the airport arrival process
Entry Requirements
Learners who enter this programme will be 16 years or older. You will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to participate in order to succeed within this course.
Duration
Part time course based on two hours per week, over one academic year.
Assessment
Your course is assessed through the development of a portfolio of evidence consisting of the six units of work.
You will also complete an end of unit test that will last for forty minutes.
Both assessments require full completion to obtain the qualification.
Progression
As the qualification has been recognised by BMI and Thomas Cook, candidates who achieve this qualification are guaranteed an interview with both airlines provided they meet their minimum criteria.
Alternative routes for progression include BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism and employment into airline related services.
