The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is one of the UK's most widely respected and in-demand health and safety qualifications for the construction industry. This conversion course has been designed for candidates who have completed the NGC1 unit (Management of Health & Safety) of the NEBOSH General Certificate, in the last 5 years.

This qualification covers the core health and safety issues involved in construction and aims to provide candidates with a comprehensive understanding of how to identify and manage workplace hazards.

Learning outcomes of the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Conversion
Effectively manage health and safety on a construction site
Identify and control common workplace hazards on a construction site
Understand the UK’s key legal requirements for managing health and safety at work.
Understand the importance and key elements of health and safety management systems.
Be aware of the duties of clients, designers, principal designer, principal contractors and contractors under the Construction Regulations 2015.
Apply principles and practice of risk assessment.
Identify construction workplace hazards, such as those associated with excavation, work at height, demolition and workplace transport safety.
Use methods for controlling identified workplace hazards within the construction industry.

The NEBOSH Certificate in Construction conversion course is designed for construction industry managers, supervisors and coordinators, who have already completed the NGC1 unit (Management of Health & Safety) of the NEBOSH General Certificate, in the last 5 years.

Assessments

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate course consists of two assessments:

  • A written examination
  • A practical assessment carried out at your place of work, to demonstrate that you can apply what you have learnt during the course to a real workplace.

On successful completion of both units and the practical assessment, a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety will be awarded.

After completing this course, you will be eligible for Technician Membership of The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), as well as associate membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
