Network Construction Operations (Gas)
Scheme Overview
Network Construction Operations (Gas) (NCO(G)) (previously known as Gas Network Operations (GNO)) is a registration of the skills, knowledge and understanding required by operatives to perform various tasks and duties on the gas networks. The registration categories have been designed to reflect the roles carried out on all networks (eg. Service Layer and Main Layer).
NCO(G) registrations last for five years, with the exception of the "Trainee" category which has a duration of one year. The trainee category requires evidence that the individual has received the five day Fundamental Safety Course and is designed to allow access to work sites to facilitate the completion of the Level 1 NVQ.
Categories
Registration on NCO(G) is available in the following categories:
NCO (G) Registration Categories:
How do I get an Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) card?
Registration is based on the requirement that valid evidence is supplied that ensures the applicant meets the criteria for registration. For new entrants evidence is required to show that the individual holds the industry specified NVQ, currently GNO. Holders of a Gas Distribution (GD) qualification will also need to complete this route. Experienced workers who hold an independently assessed qualification may qualify for registration when supported by their employer.
Holders of GNO certificates that have not been registered on the EUSR should see here for more information.
Holders of other independently accredited certificates, for example Gas Network Engineering (GNE) Level 3 and holders of expired, or close to expiry GNO cards should see here for more information on Re-Registration.
