WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
This course is to provide individuals who are new to networking with the knowledge necessary to understand and identify the tasks involved in supporting networks. This is an introductory course designed to provide an overview of networking concepts and how they are implemented.

This course is designed to help students prepare for the following examinations:

· CompTIA NetworkCertification
· MCSA Exam 70-218

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will study the following modules:

Networking concepts
Media and Topologies
Network Protocols
The 7 Layers of the OSI model
TCP/IP
IP Addressing and CIDR
Network Implementation
Network Security
Network Support and Troubleshooting

WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
You will need to attend the classes on Tuesday evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. You will also need to spend time reading up in preparation for classes.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
On completion of the course you will have the knowledge to support computer networks. On successfully passing the examinations, you will get a CompTIA Network+ Certificate or work towards Microsoft MCSA/MCSE Certification, dependant upon which exams you take.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTERWARDS?
You can look for employment in one of the following areas:
User support, PC support or Technical support. You will also have the knowledge and skills to progress onto Cisco CCNA or Microsoft MCSE certification.
