Network Engineer (N+)

This course will lead you to the highly regarded N+ qualification - increasingly the industry's examination of choice for computer network engineers. For many it is more than sufficient to secure a job as a network or support technician, and for others, it provides the catalyst for further study and to pursue professional status following either CCNA/CCNP (Cisco) or MCSA/MCSE (Microsoft) career paths.

The N+ examination by CompTIA is widely recognised throughout the computer industry and is a significant declaration of skills and understanding. It will teach you what you need to know about installing, configuring and troubleshooting networking hardware, peripherals and protocols. For some it is more than sufficient to secure a career as a network technician, for others it provides the catalyst for future study and careers in computer networking, network support and the internet.

About NetMaster (N+) Certification

The objective is for you to become CompTIA Network+ certified. N+ is a qualification sponsored by CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association. Virtually every computer company of consequence is a member; Microsoft, Novell, Sun, IBM, HP, Apple, Intel and so on. The N+ certification has rapidly become the de facto standard for entry into PC industry as a networks technician.

Part A

The student will undertake a series of learning modules with tutor support as required. Work study is enhanced by digital video on CD with graphical illustrations and narration to reinforce the key concepts introduced in the course.

Practical Training

Students may choose to undertake this course with or without practical class training. For those who choose to include practical training within their course, the following details apply.

The student will not require practical training before the successful completion of Parts A-B of the course. The practical training is designed to reinforce the syllabus and answer any questions the student may have regarding specific areas. All arrangements for the use of a computer for practice lessons will be carried out by the college. The college will always strive to arrange suitable times and venues but reserves the right to change venues and times for computer practice as needs dictate.
