About this course

One Higher Grade pass and three Standard Grades passes to include evidence of numeracy and computer skills. Alternatively NC modules or NQ units will also be considered. Candidates over 18 may be accepted with lower qualifications. Candidates with particular vendor qualifications may be eligible for credit transfer in some subjects.

Preferred Entry Requirements
One Higher Grade pass and three Standard Grades passes to include evidence of numeracy and computer skills. Alternatively NC modules or NQ units will also be considered. Candidates over 18 may be accepted with lower qualifications. Candidates with particular vendor qualifications may be eligible for credit transfer in some subjects.

Course Duration: 2 academic years

Hours per week: 18 hours (students should also plan for 17 hours per week of private study)

Course subjects: Operating System Essentials, Operating System Support, Internet Concepts, Client Operating Systems, Network Server Operating Systems, Network Technology, Routing Technology, Switching Technology, Internetworking Technology, Network Infrastructure, Web Server Management, Supporting Users: Troubleshooting Desktop Applications, Supporting Users: Troubleshooting Desktop Operating Systems, Wireless Local Area Networks.

Progression
Entry to Degree programmes in Networking or IT Studies. Employment: Network Administrator, Technician.
