Course programme
We are delighted to offer a exciting CPD opportunity for staff in Art and Design, Media Studies as well as teachers delivering the new Creative & Media and IT Diplomas.
The recent OFSTED report on Art Craft and Design has highlighted the need for secondary teachers of Art Craft and Design “to update their subject skills, knowledge and experience of contemporary culture and creativity “ and to develop a culture where “ digital media enriches the curriculum and pupil’s exploration of abstract concepts “.
The new KS3 curriculum and the new GCSE for 2009 also include new media as an entitlement for students. The emergence of the role of Art within current and future Creative and Media courses means that teachers need to understand the thinking behind what the subject is all about. The Art Craft and Design curriculum needs to be fit for purpose for the 21st century teenager.
This course, with Creativity and Arts consultant Susan Coles, will be a mixture of a “hands on” session with Adobe PhotoShop and digital cameras, informative discussion, observing and sharing examples of good practice and a practical guide as to how to create schemes of work which utilise new media.
Time: 9.30am - 3.00pm
