Topic areas:
1. Introduce yourself to someone and give some basic information about yourself such as where you live/what you do/your age/what you drink/what you want to eat, hobbies, etc.
2. Talk about other people and give the same kind of information about them as in (1) above.
3. Ask someone else about their habits, what they do, where they live, where they work, etc.
4. Tell the time in Norwegian, and say what date it is (numbers, days of the week, etc.) .
5. Ask for what you want in a shop.
6. Describe people’s appearances, clothing, etc.
7. Express your likes and dislikes.
8. Give basic directions in Norwegian
9. Talk about what your are going to do in the near future.
10. Talk about what you did yesterday.

· Recognise verbs in the infinitive, present tense, simple future and simple past

· Use of modal auxiliary verbs (also for simple future): skal, vil, kan, må

· Pronouns: personal, reflective, possessive, demonstrative

· Recognise 3 genders: en (m), ei (f), et (n)

· Interrogative words: hvor, hva, hvem, hvordan, når, hvilken (t), hvorfor

· Basic sentence structure, including inversion

· Prepositions

· Adjective/noun agreement: et gult hus, en gul bil, flere gule bananer

Funding and fees   If you plan to study credit courses totalling 30 credits or more in the year 2015-16, you may be eligible to apply for the SAAS Part-time Fee Grant (PTFG) which can contribute towards course fees. Students in receipt of certain state benefits or those who are earning £25,000 or less per year, including any private and state pensions, may be eligible.
