NQ Hairdressing

Course Aims:
This course provides the practical skills required to allow further progression within hairdressing, providing hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge. Gents barbering work experience and competition work is included in the course. In the first year of study learners will achieve the National Progression Award in Cosmetology. On completion, you could enter the hairdressing working environment, or progress further, taking the first steps towards the managerial role.

Progression Opportunities:
On completion students are able to progress to a higher level programme which will provide the opportunity to gain additional skills and knowledge in hairdressing.

Career Potential:
Students who are successful in their studies can look forward to gaining employment within the hairdressing industry. Students completing a higher level programme can gain employment at junior stylist/stylist level. Other opportunities include company representatives and salon management positions.

Course Assessment:
Assessment is both practical and theoretical. Students continually build up a portfolio of evidence in relation to the practical elements. Emphasis is on the practical skills of candidates.
