What do I need to get on the course? No formal qualifications are required.,

What will I study? The courses follow the Adult Numeracy Core Curriculum. Students can start from the very beginning to understand, use and improve their maths. The courses focus on the skills of number, measure, shape and space, and handling data at different levels. Some of the areas covered include: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, using money, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurements, diagrams, charts, probability, algebra. There is excellent progression through the levels to Foundation and Intermediate GCSE Maths. The higher levels are supported by maths clubs to provide extra support.

What qualification will I get? The qualifications are various depending on level. The main qualifications are AQA Certificate in Adult Numeracy at Entry Level, City and Guilds National Tests in Adult Numeracy and AQA GCSE Maths at Foundation and Intermediate Level.

How do I get on the course? Come in to the Centre for Lifelong Learning, 28-42 Blackstock Road, Finsbury Park N4 to a drop-in session Thursdays 1.30-3.30pm from 20 September to 22 November (except half-term 25 October).

How much does the course cost? Courses are free for UK residents who have been in the country for at least 3 years. Level 2 GCSE students pay a fee (Concessions available).
