The nursing cadet programme is aimed at individuals who aspire to a career in nursing. It is a two year programme and successful nursing cadets gain a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. Course programme
This course is for anyone who has already completed the first year 90 credit diploma and wishes to pursue a career in health or social care, for example; nursing, occupational therapy, radiography or midwifery.
The course allows you to study a variety of units, which include:-
- Health promotion
- Values in Health and Social Care
- Caring for Children and Young People
- Safeguarding adults
- Vocational Experience including 200 hours placement
- Physiological disorders
- Physiology of fluid balance
- Public Health
Method of Study
This is a class based course where you will attend 2/3 days in college and placement.
Additional information
There are no exams for this course. You will be assessed continually through a range of assessments including: investigations, practical work, reports, presentations, posters and a portfolio.
