Functional Skills Level 1 Bundle
An ideal package for new learners or those looking to enhance or refresh their basic English and Maths. Impress any employer by developing the essential literacy and numeracy skills across eight key areas:

At the end of this course, successful learners will be awarded two formal qualifications by NCFE CACHE. The training courses have been designed specifically to meet the needs of learners who prefer to study from home.

As we revealed before, Functional Skills was designed with the real world and post-study life in mind. It aims to give you a solid grounding in English and Maths, yes, but also skills you’ll use after Oxbridge. For example, the ability to understand technical letters, fill out tricky forms, or organise your finances. Like having three strings on one bow, you get the English, Maths, and Practical skills you need succeed.

SECTION 1Functional Skills Maths Level 1
RepresentingYou’ll gain an understanding of practical problems in various situations, develop strategies for solving problems, and obtain answers to simple practical problems that are clear and routine.
AnalysingYou’ll learn to apply maths to simple given practical problems, such as fractions and number patterns, and use simple checking procedures.
InterpretingYou’ll discover how to communicate solutions to practical problems in familiar contexts and situations, looking at area, simple calculations, and metric units used in everyday situations.
ExaminationYou’ll need to complete a 2 hour minutes exam.
SECTION 2Functional Skills English Level 1
Speaking, Listening and CommunicationYou’ll make a range of contributions to discussions, presenting your ideas, opinions and information clearly using the appropriate language.
ReadingYou’ll read and understand a range of texts in detail, identifying the main points, and learn to use information you find to form suitable responses.
WritingYou’ll learn to write clearly to an appropriate level of detail. In doing so, you’ll be able to present information in a logical sequence; use language, format and structure for a particular purpose and audience; and use the correct grammar, punctuation and spelling in a variety of different written texts.
Reading ExaminationYou’ll be expected to complete a 1 hour reading exam to complete this course.
Writing ExaminationYou’ll be expected to complete a 1 hour writing exam to complete this course.
Speaking and Listening ExaminationYou’ll be expected to complete a 20 speaking and listening assessment to complete this course.
