About the course: This course is suitable for those working in support services in a health care environment and wish to obtain a recognised qualification. Candidates will demonstrate their competence against national standards. This award covers a variety of support service roles including record keeping, transport, customer services, security, housekeeping, cleaning and mail delivery and organisation. Some use of expert witness will be required because of the multiplicity of support roles. This will be organised and supported by the assessment team.
This award is comprised of 8 units, 4 of which are core unit and 4 of which the candidate chooses to reflect their work role. Candidates receive 1-1
support from their assessor who will visit the candidate in their work place and observe their practice. Assessors will also guide the completion of evidence to demonstrate that candidates have an underpinning knowledge of their role and the legislation which governs the health environment. Candidates also attend workshops where a tutor will support them to complete any written evidence required.
Content: 20 hours 1-1 Assessor support, 4, work shops of 3 hours duration in college.
There is an additional £100 registration and certification fee with this course.
