The experienced worker Practical Assessment route to an NVQ Level 2 is designed specifically for candidates who are experienced and competent in the tiling industry,
 
Course Entry Requirements 
 
Each candidate must be able to provide evidence that they that they have at least 5 years experience in the tiling industry. Each candidate will need to bring their own tools for the project which should include the following:-
 
  • a suitable serrated trowel for applying wall adhesive

  • a suitable trowel for applying floor adhesive

  • a suitable trowel for applying plaster

  • a suitable spirit level

  • Tile pincers

  • tape measure

  • gauging trowel

  • grouting float

  • junior hacksaw and /or tiling cutters

  • Cross pein hammer

  • Tile cutter

  • square

  • pencil

  • two inch paint brush

    VR02 conform to effecient work practices
     
    VR-3 move and handle resources
     
    VR141 prepare backgrounds for tiling

    On Chase Tiling Academy

    Provider description
    The workshop at the academy is designed to hold a maximum of 12 students in the tiling workshop and 8 in the plumbing workshop, each being allocated their own tiling booth. This ensures an excellent Tutor to Student ratio, meaning you will get close tuition on all aspects of the course.

    Our learning delivery styles ensure the course is available to all, regardless of gender, ability or previous experience.

    Courses range from 1 week DIY courses through to 26 week NVQ courses. Each course is run on either a weekday or over weekends. Flexible arrangements can be made to integrate the duration of a training programme into your work / holiday schedule.

    It is essential you bring suitable working clothes or overalls and steel toe cap safety shoes. All other PPE is provided by the centre and must be worn when applicable.
