NVQ 2 BARBERING APPRENTICESHIP Entry Requirements
Recent previous experience in hairdressing with qualifications in NVQ level 2 ladies hairdressing.
Description
A one year course aimed at qualified hairdressers who want to develop their skills in barbering and gain the qualification.
Course Content
G1 - Ensure your own actions reduce the risks to health and safety
G4 - Fulfill salon reception duties
G5 - Give your clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
G6 - Promote additional products or services to clients
G7 - Advise and consult with clients
H7 - Cut hair using basic barbering techniques
H8 - Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
H9 - Shampoo and condition hair and scalp
H18 - Provide scalp massage services
- Practical workshops and theory learning with assignments and writtens
- GNVQ Key skills included
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Continuous assessment both in practical and written studies as well as the production of a portfolio.
Progression
Employment or NVQ level 3 Hairdressing.
