Entry Requirements
Attendance at an Advice and Guidance
session is required before enrolment, contact Margaret Botterill on 01256
306482. If you are working in a salon please contact the BCOT
Apprenticeship Department. Students must be currently working in a
hairdressing salon.
Registration Requirements:
Registration with
the awarding body is required and will take place within the first month.
Description
This
course is based on two years and its aim is to aid apprentices to become
competent hairdressers by attending College for 1 day per week. Enrolment
is available throughout the year.
Course Content
Hairdressing
practical workshop sessions and theory lessons, using a variety of methods
to learn including client sessions and assignments. To cover all aspects
of ladies' hairdressing. GNVQ key skills are available for
Apprenticeships. These are assessed through the hairdressing evidence. IT
will be taught and assessed separately.
Where a course is aimed towards
an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for
the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Certification is
achieved through continuous assessment of practical, oral and written
tasks. A portfolio of evidence will also be produced during the course.
